Nottingham Retains Purple Flag Status for 16th Year

Continued recognition for a safer, well-managed night-time city

Nottingham has once again been awarded Purple Flag status, marking the 16th consecutive year the city has been recognised for its well-managed and safe night-time economy.

The award highlights the strength of partnership working across the city, with a continued focus on safety, wellbeing and creating a positive experience for everyone who visits Nottingham after dark.

Safe Space Notts has again been recognised as part of this success, with over 80 accredited venues across the city providing support to anyone who may feel vulnerable or at risk. The scheme’s website and interactive map were also highlighted as key tools in helping people quickly find a safe space when they need it.

This recognition reflects the ongoing work of partners across Nottingham, including local authorities, police, universities and city organisations, all working together to keep safety a priority.

Maintaining Purple Flag status for 16 years reinforces Nottingham’s position as a city that continues to lead the way in creating a safer night-time environment.
