Sexual Violence or Abuse

The Topaz Centre – Sexual Assault Referral Centre

(all genders aged 18+)

The Topaz Centre offers free confidential healthcare and support, in Nottinghamshire, to adults (18 years and older) that have experienced sexual assault or rape. The Topaz Centre has trained specialist Forensic Nurses Examiners and Crisis Workers, who will guide you through an assessment of your healthcare needs and offer practical and emotional support.

Depending on when it happened, the Topaz Centre may offer you a forensic medical examination. This is where forensic samples and photos are taken and then stored confidentially. If you later decide to talk to the police, this evidence can then be used to support the investigation.

Nottinghamshire Sexual Violence Support Services

(all genders aged 18+)

Notts SVS Services for anyone (18yrs and over) in Nottingham or Nottinghamshire, affected by any form of sexual violence, recently or in the past.

Notts SVS Services offer a range of specialist sexual violence support. This includes a variety of counselling options, Independent Sexual Violence Advisors, a specialist sexual violence helpline and a range of therapeutic support. They can support you when making a report or disclosure to the Police.

Coral Cove is the East Midlands Children and Young People’s Sexual Assault Service is a Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) located within the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.

They support children and young people (0-17) in the East Midlands who have experienced rape or sexual assault, recently or in the past. The service also helps young adults with learning disabilities, offering tailored medical and emotional support

Imara

(for all genders aged 0-17)

Imara is a Nottingham based charity, providing independent specialist support to children, teenagers, and their families affected by child sexual abuse and domestic abuse (0-17 years).

Imara works across Nottinghamshire and will help a young person navigate the journey towards healing, offering therapy, Children & Young People’s Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (CHISVAs) and group interventions.

The Consent Coalition provides sexual violence and consent information, signposting and resources for those in Nottinghamshire.

The “Your Journey – sexual violence – a survivor guide to support and reporting” booklet provides information on the options available for reporting a sexual violence offence and accessing specialist sexual violence support in Nottinghamshire.

Juno Women’s Aid

(Women)

Juno Women’s Aid provides a wide range of services including the confidential 24-hour free domestic and sexual violence helpline. This is where you can speak to a specialist trained support worker 365 days a year. Juno works with women, children, and young people who have been affected by domestic abuse in Ashfield, Broxtowe, Gedling, Nottingham City, and Rushcliffe.
